New roof for the Australian Tapestry Workshop

In March 2024 the Foundation committed to the largest project in its history since the purchase of the Park Street building as a home for the Australian Tapestry Workshop which was the total re-roofing of the Tapestry Workshop. In conjunction with Williams Boag Architects and the construction firm DBG Projects a new roof now covers the Workshop. This remedies a whole series of age-related issues that the old roof was suffering from and impacting on all three of the building’s occupants in one way or another. We would like to thank the Director and Staff of the Australian Tapestry Workshop for their forbearance, as they continued to work in the building over the period, as well as Nexus Designs and Melbourne Dermatology, for their patience and compliance as the works were completed. Special thanks are extended to Brett Maris and his team at DBG Projects for the work they did and to Peter Williams, Ray Cangadis and Sejal Karadia of Williams Boag Architects for their excellent design and project management.
